Srinagar, Dec 17 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (JKCEGA) Wednesday extended gratitude to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's government for placing senior engineering officers in the Jal Shakti and Public Works Departments.
JKCEGA in a press statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) conveyed a gratitude CM Omar, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for PWD (R&B) Surinder Choudhary, Minister for Jal Shakti and Forest, Ecology and Environment Departments Javid Ahmad Rana.
The association also expressed gratitude Shaleen Kabra (IAS) Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department and Anil Kumar Singh (IAS) Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (R&B) Department for their leadership, guidance, and concrete efforts in issuing a series of long-awaited promotion and placement orders against available vacancies.
JKCEGA said that these orders cover critical leadership positions including one Engineer-in-Chief, eight Chief Engineers (R&B), ten Superintending Engineers and eleven Executive Engineers in the Jal Shakti Department.
“The association believes that this initiative will significantly strengthen the institutional leadership framework, improve decision-making efficiency, and enhance the overall delivery of public works and essential services across the Union Territory,” JKCEGA said.
Expressing satisfaction for the development, the association said that it was optimistic that the vacancies at the levels of Superintending Engineer (R&B), Executive Engineer (R&B), Assistant Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer in both the departments which have arisen due to these placements and recent retirements, shall be filled expeditiously.
The Association has further urged that the long-pending cases of regularisation be finalized on a top-priority basis to ensure continuity, administrative stability, and sustained morale among engineers serving in the field.
JKCEGA reiterates its commitment to constructive engagement with the government and the administration in the larger interest of professional excellence, institutional strengthening, and holistic development of the Union Territory.—(KNO)
